Online conference on Problems and Solutions for Decarbonisation and Energy Transition: a Cross-National Dialogue

This Conference brings together the latest research on energy transitions from across several countries. It involves institutes, researchers and key participants in the process of energy transition, to learn from experience and to reflect on obstacles and possibilities.

It is focused on the following five themes:

Socio-technical innovation, institutional change and the transition;
Narratives of transition: technological versus behavioural, centralised versus decentralised, market mechanisms versus direct intervention;
Models for transition: regulatory, community and business;
Putting people at centre of energy transition: communities, workers, Indigenous Peoples;
Visions for transition – energy justice, energy commons, energy democracy.

Social Sciences Week 2021 events

The School of Social and Political Sciences at the University of Sydney is once again proud to partner with Social Sciences Week Australia for an exciting week of public talks showcasing the diversity and relevance of social science research in our community and society. 

Our political economists are involved in two panels on basic income and energy transition, and there are other events on the politics and inequalities of the pandemic. All events free, online and open to all.
